Google launches Doppl, a new app that lets you visualize how an outfit might look on you
Google is launching a new experimental app called Doppl who uses AI to visualize what different outfits can look on you, the company announced On Thursday. The app is available on iOS And Android in the US
Doppl is designed to let you try almost outfits on a digital version of yourself. The app works by first uploading a photo of yourself. From there you can use photos or screenshots of different outfits to virtually try them. These images can be a photo of an outfit that you see in a second -hand store or on a friend, or even a screenshot of an outfit that you see while scrolling through social media.
As soon as you select an outfit that you want to visualize, Doppl makes an image of a virtual version of yourself that carries the outfit. Doppl can also make these static images and convert them into AI-generated videos, so that you can get a better idea of what the outfit would look like in real life.
You can save your favorite looks and browse all your other virtual try-ons. Moreover, you can also share your look with others.
The Tech giant says that the new app builds on the recently launched possibilities of Google Shopping with which you can virtually put on clothes. By starting the functionality in an independent app, Google makes the function more easily accessible, while people can explore their style in a fun and interactive way, the company believes. It can also help Google to collect more data about how apps like these could work, to help his future efforts in space.
While Google has offered Virtual try-on technology earlierThe earlier functions aimed at showing items on a diverse range of the bodies of models. With Doppl, the company lets your clothes try on an animated version of your own body.
“We hope that Doppl helps you explore your style in new and exciting ways,” said Google in a blog post. “If a Google Labs experiment is Doppl in the early days and it may not always be good. Fit, appearance and clothing details may not always be accurate.”
Since the DopPL is an experimental launch, it is unknown when or or Google is planning to bring the app to extra regions.
