Google I/O 2025: What to expect, including updates to Gemini and Android 16

Google I/O, the largest developer conference of the year of Google, is almost on us.
Planned for 20 to 21 May at the Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View, I/O will present product announcements from the Google portfolio. Expect a lot of news with regard to Android, Chrome, Google Search, YouTube and natural-Google’s AI-driven chatbot, Gemini.
This is what to expect.
Gemini and AI

AI is the Tech du Jour, and Google has, just like its rivals, invested heavily in it.
A shoo-in for I/O is a new addition (or more) to Google’s flagship Gemini family of AI models. Leak In recent weeks suggests that an updated Gemini Ultra model is on the road, Gemini Ultra is the best Gemini offer from Google.
With this improved Gemini, Ultra can come a more expensive Gemini subscription.
Google offers a single premium -tier, Gemini Advanced ($ 20 per month), to unlock additional options in its Gemini Chatbot, which is driven by the Gemini models of the company. But Google will soon be able to launch two new plans, Premium Plus and Premium Pro. It is not yet clear what benefits can be attached and how these plans can be priced compared to Gemini Advanced.

Android 16

For the first time this year, Google is organizing a separate event that focuses on Android updates: the Android show. It will take place on Tuesday, about a week before I/O.
The latest version of Android, Android 16, will be the focus. Android 16 is expected to bring it with it Improved reports And a completely new design language, material 3 expressive.
