Glaser Weil Attorney was 65

Harrison Dossick, an old entertainment and media procedure and partner at Glaser Weil, died unexpectedly in Los Angeles on August 14. He was 65.

For almost four decades, Dossick represented large film studios, creative talent, distributors and media companies.

One of his remarkable cases was his successful defense of Angelina Jolie in the infringement of copyright with regard to “In the Land of Blood and Honey” and his representation of the distribution of the film district in false advertising claims about “Drive”. He also has the Paramount Pictures in copyright and ideas for submitting ideas related to ‘what men want’, and Sony Pictures Entertainment in a dispute for profit participation on a follow -up to ‘Basic Instinct’.

Dossick also represented Sony’s screen gems in a profit participation and similarity dispute about ‘The Partridge Family’ and Volvo about a blackout and copyright action with regard to social media use of photos.

He recently represented a prominent screenwriter and director with a large film project and argued for a prominent boxing manager in a commission conflict against a sports promotion company.

“Harrison was an exceptional lawyer and a cherished colleague and friend,” said Peter Weil, managing partner of Glaser Weil. “He combined intellectual sparkle with warmth, humor and integrity, earned the trust of his customers and the deep admiration of everyone who worked with him. Harrison’s sudden death is an immeasurable loss for our company and the legal community. We will miss him enormously, and we expand our heart fruit and all that held him.”

Before Dossick came to Glaser Weil from 2012-2023, Dossick from 2012-2023, Kats Muchin Rosenman from 2000 to 2012, and Hill Wynne Troop & Meisinger from 1988 to 2000.

He is recognized by the Legal 500 and Best Advocaten in America and was named Southern California Super Lawyer by Los Angeles and the Super Lawyers magazine Los Angeles by Loshern California Super Lawyers Magazine (2006-2010 and 2014-2018).

He is survived by his wife, Joanne, and children Artie and Carly.
