Giancarlo Esposito Among 11 added to ‘All the Sinners Bleed’ series

The upcoming Netflix series adaptation of the SA Cosby novel “All the Sinners Bleed” has added nearly a dozen returning cast members, Variety has learned.

The new cast members are: Giancarlo Esposito (“Breaking Bad,” “Do the Right Thing”) as Ezekiel Wiggins; David Lyons (“The Beast in Me,” “Truth Be Told”) as Jasper Sanderson; Donald Elise Watkins (“Emergency,” “Office Romance”) as Deputy Trey Avery; Mackenzie Astin (“Stick,” “The Pitt”) as Deputy Pip Collins; Jordan M. Cox (“P-Valley”) as Alternate Tom Sadler; Cullen Moss (“Outer Banks,” “Your Honor”) as Alternate Roger Simmons; Angus O’Brien (“Boots”) as alternate Davy Burks; Cranston Johnson (“Hap and Leonard,” “Naomi”) as Pastor Jamal Addison; Christopher Matthew Cook (“Dog Eat Dog,” “High Potential”) as Royce Lazare; Christopher Thornton (“The Lincoln Lawyer”) as coordinator Cam Trowder; And Bill Oberst Jr. (“Criminal Minds,” “Three From Hell”) as Reverend Elias Hillington.

The new additions appear alongside previously announced lead actor Ṣọpẹ́ Dìrísù and series regulars John Douglas Thompson, Nicole Beharie, Daniel Ezra, Andrea Cortés, Murray Bartlett and Leila George. Production on the series is currently taking place in Atlanta.

The official logline for the series reads: “Plagued by the untimely death of his devout mother, the first black sheriff (Dìrísù) in a small Bible Belt county must lead the hunt for a serial killer who has been hunting his black community for years in the name of God.”

Joe Robert Cole is adapting “All the Sinners Bleed” and will serve as executive producer and showrunner in addition to directing several episodes, including the first. The Obamas’ Higher Ground Productions and Amblin Television are also executive producing along with Cosby.
