General Hospital’s Steve Burton is engaged to Michelle Lundstrom
General Hospital star Steve Burton and girlfriend Michelle Lundstrom are engaged.
“Engaged 3-1-25. ❤️💍♾️,” Burton, 54, wrote via Instagram on Saturday, January 4, alongside a slideshow of the couple’s sweet photos from their engagement. A glance captured the moment Burton got down on one knee and popped the question.
Burton’s caption continued: “Jeremiah 29:11. “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
Well-wishers filled the comments section to congratulate the happy couple, including Burton’s General Hospital costars.
“Steve and Michelle, I wish you both a long, loving and fruitful life together! Congratulations!” wrote Costar Rick Hearstwhile he was a fellow cast member Finola Hughes shouted, ‘Congratulations! I wish you both all the luck in the future, you make a great couple! Congratulations, Michelle!”
Burton was previously married to Sheree Gustin from 1999 to 2022, with whom he shares three children: daughters Makena and Brooklyn and son Jack.
Burton’s latest marriage made headlines in May 2022 when it was revealed that he and 46-year-old Gustin had split after 23 years of marriage, and that she was expecting a baby with another man. (The couple was legally divorced in March of that year.)
“I wanted to clarify something. Sheree and I are divorced. She recently announced that she is expecting her fourth child. The child is not mine,” says the General Hospital star wrote online at the time. “We are still busy co-parenting our three beautiful children. We would appreciate privacy at this time. Lots of love, Steve.”
Gustin then welcomed her fourth child, daughter Izabella, in February 2023 and the father’s identity has been kept private. (She gave birth to baby No. 5, daughter Addy, in February 2024.)
As for Burton, the soap opera star confirmed his and Lundstrom’s relationship with the Daily drama in May 2024, but it wasn’t until the following months that the couple made their red carpet debut at the Daytime Emmy Awards last June.
“Our first red carpet together. It was a dream of a night from start to finish,” Lundstrom wrote via Instagram in June, while spending the evening with her partner. “Thank you for all the beautiful, sweet comments & messages. I am truly grateful ❤️🙏🏼.”
Burton’s at the time General Hospital costar Kirsten Storms wrote in the comments: “You guys are so cute together, this photo is almost hard to look at. 🥰 ❤️.”
