Gayle King is stunned by the comments from fellow gastheer Tony Dokoupil about Jimmy Kimmel

Kimmel got a standing ovation when he was on the Jimmy Kimmel Live! phase. While he fights the tears back, the comedian explained his earlier comments about Kirk.

He told viewers who could coordinate: “I want to make something clear, because it is important to me as a person, and that is you understand that it was never my intention to make the murder of a young man.

“I posted a message on Instagram on the day he was murdered, sent love to (Kirk’s) family and asked for compassion, and I meant, and I was still doing it, nor was it my intention to blame a specific group of the actions of what was clearly a deeply disturbed individual.

“That was really the opposite of the point I tried to make. But I understand that it felt for some that it was badly timed or unclear, or perhaps both, and for those who think I have a finger, I get why you are upset.”

He continued: “If the situation was reversed, there is a good chance that I felt the same thing. I have many friends and family members on the other side of whom I love and stay in the neighborhood, although we do not agree with politics at all. I don’t think the murderer who has shot Charlie Kirk represents someone.”

Despite Kimmel’s emotional comments, Nexstar and Sinclair, who have around 70 partner stations, still refused to air his program.
