Gayle King is fuming over rumors she has been ‘fired’ by CBS

Former New York Times Opinion writer Weiss, 41, was enlisted by Donald Trump supporter and new Paramount chairman and CEO David Ellison to shake the network news division out of its left-wing reporting.
She is now accused of “aggressively” throwing out “woke” mainstays in favor of rebalancing ratings-criticized programs that drove away moderate and Republican viewers.
“We believe the majority of the country desires news that is balanced and fact-based, and we want CBS to be their home,” Ellison stated in her Oct. 6 hiring announcement. The free press founder a “proven champion of independent, principled journalism.”
Weiss reportedly has a meeting of the 60 minutes staff shortly after her hiring and asked bluntly, “Why does the country think you are biased?” leaving the room in stunned silence.
In August, CBS and Paramount agreed to pay 79-year-old Trump as much as $16 million to settle a lawsuit in which the president alleged the longtime newsmagazine engaged in “deceptive conduct” and claimed it edited an interview with his 2024 campaign opponent, Kamala Harris, to make her responses seem more understandable.
