‘Frieren’ season 2 Trailer Drops, sets January 2026 release date

Crunchyroll treated fans to fireworks from a different species on Anime Expo on July 4, unveiled the first trailer for season 2 “Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End” and confirmed the acquisition of global streaming rights for a release of January 2026.

The unveiling took place during a panel hosted by Crunchyroll in the Peacock Theater in the center of LA, where fans got their first look at the expected return of the much-praised Fantasy series. Each talked about their experiences in the series and about the coming season.

Fukushi revealed that Tomoya Kitagawa will direct season 2. Kitagawa has previously contributed storyboards and directed several episodes in the first season. Season 1 director Keiichiro Saito, known for “Bocchi the Rock!,” Will supervise the new season as a supervisory director.
