‘Frieren’ season 2 Trailer Drops, sets January 2026 release date

Crunchyroll treated fans to fireworks from a different species on Anime Expo on July 4, unveiled the first trailer for season 2 “Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End” and confirmed the acquisition of global streaming rights for a release of January 2026.

The unveiling took place during a panel hosted by Crunchyroll in the Peacock Theater in the center of LA, where fans got their first look at the expected return of the much-praised Fantasy series. Fukushi revealed that Tomoya Kitagawa will direct season 2. Kitagawa has previously contributed storyboards and directed several episodes in the first season. Season 1 director Keiichiro Saito, known for “Bocchi the Rock!,” Will supervise the new season as a supervisory director.
