Freddie Freeman’s wife celebrates the Dodgers’ Game 2 World Series victory

Chelsea Vrijman proudly celebrates her husband, the Los Angeles Dodgers’ first cellar Freddie Vrijmanand his team’s World Series run.

Chelsea, 34, shared a series of Dodgers-related posts on Saturday, Oct. 25, including a celebratory Instagram story after the team defeated the Toronto Blue Jays 5-1. Chelsea captioned a video with an emphatic “Yayayayyyyyy!!!!”

The victory was much needed for the team, which lost 11-4 during Game 1 on Friday, October 24.

The celebration comes just days after Chelsea called on others to offer support for the Dodgers pitcher Alex Vesia while taking care of a “personal family matter” during the World Series.

Freddie Freeman had one of his biggest fans cheering him on at the Los Angeles Dodgers’ latest game. “Good to have you back, Max! 💙,” the team’s official Instagram page captioned a sweet photo of Freeman’s wife, Chelsea, and their sons — Charlie, 7, Brandon, and Maximus, 3 — on Sunday, September 8. “Please keep the Vesias in your prayers 💙,” Chelsea wrote via her Instagram Story on Thursday, October 23.

The request came after the Dodgers announced Vesia would be unavailable for the remainder of the postseason.

“It is with heavy hearts that we announce that Alex Vesia is away from the team as he and his wife Kayla navigate a very personal family matter,” the MLB team wrote via Instagram on Thursday. “The entire Dodgers organization sends our thoughts to the Vesia family and we will provide an update at a later date.”

Chelsea and Freddie have been married since 2014 and share three sons: Charlie, Brandon and Maximus. The family moved to California in 2022 after Freddie signed a $162 million contract with the Dodgers after spending 12 seasons with the Atlanta Braves.

The couple has been open about their path to parenthood. The couple’s son, Charlie, was born in 2016 and Brandon followed in December 2020. Maximus, who was born via surrogacy, arrived in February 2021 – just months later.

Chelsea and Freddie have been open about their parenthood journey and the ups and downs of trying to conceive.

“We tried for a few years, but it didn’t work out,” the Freemans told ESPN after Max was born. “We talked to doctors and they suggested surrogacy. We jumped on it because we wanted to be blessed with more children.”

The couple discovered Chelsea was pregnant with Brandon shortly after deciding to use a surrogate to carry Max.

In August 2024, the family revealed that Max had been diagnosed with a rare neurological condition called Guillain-Barré syndrome, which often means the body’s immune system attacks its own nerves. The young boy spent 8 days in the ICU and was unable to sit, stand or walk.

“These have been the hardest and scariest days of our lives,” the couple said in a joint Instagram statement. “Maximus is such a special boy and he fought SO hard. This will be a recovery journey, but we are confident he will make a full recovery.”
