Fox NFL Sunday Host Curt Menefee weighs in on Terry Bradshaw’s future

Fox NFL Sunday host Short Menefee weighs on his cohost Terry Bradshaw‘s future on the show.

“It will never happen!” Menefee, 60, told the Daily mail of Bradshaw’s possible retirement on Thursday, December 4. “They’re going to carry him out in a hearse – he’s not leaving the show.”

Bradshaw, 77, has been with the show since its inception in 1994, although he missed an episode earlier this season due to an illness, raising questions about how much longer he would remain on the air.

“It was built around him [Bradshaw] — he was the first guy they hired… He was the first guy on air for this network,” Menefee continued. ‘I don’t think he’ll ever leave. And he shouldn’t. He is the heart and soul of everything we do at Fox Sports.”

Bradshaw has been behind the microphone since he retired from the NFL in 1984. The former Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback got his start as an analyst for CBS alongside the legendary play-by-play man Verne Lundquist before moving to the studio in 1990, where he remained until leaving for Fox.

He continued, “And when I went back to freshman year, those guys grabbed me and put their arms around me and hugged me and immediately made me part of the team.”

Bradshaw has previously spoken about his retirement, but his recent absence has reignited speculation despite the commentator’s assurances to fans.

“In case you notice, today won’t be on Fox,” he shared via Instagram. “I just have a cold. I’m fine.”

During Super Bowl LIX in February, he told Denver’s 104.3 that he had already determined when he would step aside.

“I told my wife before I left the hotel room, I sat there and said, ‘I’ve got two more years at Fox. I’m 76,'” he said. “It’s a young man’s game. I understand that. Everyone wants his new one.” [people].”

But he later walked back those comments. Although Bradshaw has two years left on his contract with Fox, he indicated that he wants to stay until Fox hosts the Super Bowl again in 2029.

As Bradshaw contemplates his eventual retirement, he has expressed support for the next generation of analysts, including the legendary quarterback Tom Bradywho switched to the position last season.

“I want him to be great, and I think he will be,” Bradshaw said We weekly excluding last year. “But we don’t know enough about him. Will we see another side? Will he be funny? Will he be witty?
