Foster Dade Pilot stars Joaquin Consuelos, Sam Trammell and Heather Burns

Joaquin Consuelos, Sam Trammell and Heather Burns have joined the cast of “Foster Dade,” Hulu’s upcoming pilot based on Nash Jenkins’ novel “Foster Dade Explores the Cosmos.”

Kelly Ripa’s son Consuelos will play Colby. The official character description reads: “Colby exudes confidence and relishes his status as senior prefect at Brennan House. Obsessed with getting into Brown, he never misses an opportunity to drop the name on his resume. He is kind enough to show Foster around the school, but his true nature reveals a rules-obsessed enforcer with a chip on his shoulder.” Consuelos is represented by CAA & Untitled.

Trammell (“True Blood,” “Homeland”) will play Jim Dade, the father of Foster (Jack Alldridge). Jim is “the kind of husband and father you can expect to be unreliable. He paid a lot of money to get Foster to Kennedy, and he feels he has the right to show up and make demands on his son’s love and attention whenever he wants.” Trammell is represented by Innovative Artists and Trademark Talent.

Burns (“You’ve Got Mail,” “Miss Congeniality”) will play Charlotte Dade, Foster’s “caring, well-meaning, easily charmed, newly divorced mother who spends her copious free time doing the three Ws: work, exercise and wine.” Burns is repped by MGMT Entertainment and Schreck Rose Dapello Adams Berlin & Dunham.

According to the official logline, “Foster Dade” is “a sophisticated mystery set at an East Coast boarding school that explores privilege, scandal, sexuality and masculinity amid the rise of social media, millennial anxiety and pharmaceuticals.” Greg Berlanti and Bash Doran wrote the pilot and serve as executive producers alongside Sarah Schechter, Leigh London Redman and Robbie Rogers of Berlanti Productions, as well as Donald De Line via De Line Pictures and Jenkins. Warner Bros. Television, where Berlanti Productions has an overall agreement, is the studio.
