FITUR4all strengthens Spain’s leadership in accessible tourism | News

FITUR4all, the FITUR section dedicated to accessible and inclusive tourism, organized in partnership with IMPULSA IGUALDAD, continues preparations for the 2026 edition, with the upcoming closing of applications for the FITUR4all Awards and the final definition of the strategic roundtables.

The professional forum built around Spain’s new brand, “Think you know Spain? Think again”, which will be held on Friday, January 23, 2026, follows a year that has been particularly relevant for accessible tourism worldwide. In September 2025, TUR4all Travel presented its Accessible Tourism Trends Report, confirming that accessible tourism is no longer a niche and has consolidated itself as one of the fastest growing and most influential segments of the global tourism industry, positioning Spain as an international benchmark both as a destination and as an outbound market.

With more than 1.3 billion people with disabilities worldwide and an increasingly aging population, accessible tourism is becoming increasingly established as a strategic economic opportunity, as well as a social responsibility. In this context, FITUR4all positions itself as the leading forum for reflection, exchange and action to promote a more inclusive, competitive and socially sustainable tourism model.

The FITUR4all 2026 program will bring together government authorities, tourism destinations, industry companies and international organizations, and will address key issues such as:

The positioning of Spain as an accessible destination in the main international markets

The role of destinations in creating tourism experiences for all

The transformation of the sector, driven by private entrepreneurship

Accessible tourism as a global driver for change in the tourism model

One of the central moments of the forum will be the presentation of the FITUR4all 2026 Awards, which recognize destinations, companies and initiatives that are leading the way in accessibility and inclusion in tourism. The deadline for submitting applications ends in the coming days.

FITUR4all will also offer high-level panel discussions, micro-presentations from companies transforming the sector, and networking spaces, consolidating this event as an international benchmark for accessible tourism within the framework of FITUR.

“FITUR4all shows that accessibility is no longer a secondary element of tourism, but a key factor for quality, competitiveness and innovation across the sector. Spain has the opportunity – and the responsibility – to lead this change globally, and this forum is a fundamental lever to make this a reality,” said Miguel Carrasco, Director of Accessibility, Culture and Inclusive Tourism at IMPULSA IGUALDAD.
