IHG Hotels & Resorts introduces Dinso Resort & Villas Ko Chang, Vignette Collection By IHG – the island’s first true luxury retreat, where barefoot living meets handcrafted design and sustainability. Following the success of Dinso Resort & Villas Phuket, this new opening introduces an immersive mix of nature, culture and community on one of Thailand’s most pristine islands.
A barefoot luxury escape where recycled thwart timber, hand-woven hemp and lush greenery come together along Koh Chang’s widest stretch of beach, 250 meters of direct ocean, spacious villas and a spirit of shipwreck freedom. Guests are invited to slow down, take off their shoes and surrender to island time.
Set the scene
Designed like a village, the resort extends along shady paths lined with palm trees, with villas shrouded in greenery. The beach remains its beating heart, where wide golden sands stretch to the horizon, dotted with boats by day and glowing with fiery sunsets by night. Guests gather around the communal fire pit, enjoy cocktails in the beach hut or retreat to shady corners for quiet solitude.
The backstory
The resort is named after Din Sor Pong, a natural white clay used in Southeast Asia for sun protection. It is built with Dinso clay walls and rooted in sustainable craftsmanship. Upcycled wood, recycled tin plates, handcrafted rattan and palm umbrellas made by local artisans embody the ethos of ingenuity. Each element tells a story and reflects Vignette Collection’s promise of unique stays.
Accommodation
It offers 162 rooms and villas from 50 m², each with a rain shower, bath and terrace or balcony. Guests can choose from rooms with direct access to the pool, suites with panoramic views, family rooms or villas with private pools. The interior combines rustic charm with understated luxury – teak tones, woven rattan ceilings and hand-woven hemp details – designed to cocoon guests in nature without sacrificing comfort.
Food and drinks
Dining at Dinso is a journey of storytelling and places. D_Primitive acts as a breakfast oasis with live stations and transforms into an elegant gastronomic venue in the evening, where Thai fusion is reimagined with sophistication. Made from driftwood and shipwrecks, D_Castaway Beach Club celebrates adventure with barbecue seafood, Italian, Asian and Indian cuisine, cocktails and sunset music. D_Wreck offers handcrafted coffee, Thai specialties and a shipwreck-inspired wine cellar for romantic dinners or tastings. Guests also share in the ritual of D_Beach Table, a communal dining experience on the sand, where menus, drinks and companions are surprised while strangers often leave as friends.
