Fire Country’s Diane Farr teases Shania Twain’s role as sheriff

Of Fire country The cast is constantly looking for ways to cast country singers in key roles and discussed the perfect way to bring Shania Twain into the universe.
Diane Farrwho plays Sharon, spoke exclusively We weekly about her idea and said, “I just asked Morena [Baccarin] yesterday because we have different birth mothers [on the show] if she could see herself with Shania Twain as her mother.
Farr, 56, acknowledged that Twain may be “too young” for the role — but the potential is still there.
“Just this idea of finding a country singer that can go further and take that further [would be great]. Northern California is so different from Southern California,” she noted of Fire Country’s tone compared to spinoff Sheriff Country. “It’s got bits of Idaho, Montana, and it almost feels like it’s got bits of Tennessee. The door is opening wider and wider.”
Fire countrywhich premiered in 2022, follows Bode (Max Thieriot) while getting the chance to shorten his prison sentence by volunteering for the California Conservation Camp Program. Three seasons within, Fire country features cameos from country stars such as Kane Brown And Jelly roll.
“[Jelly Roll] was drying his hands with a towel in the CMT’s bathroom [in April 2024]. I ran into him in the bathroom at the CMT Music Awards,” Thieriot, 37, exclusively recalled Us in April about how he got Jelly Roll, 40, involved. “I said, ‘Thanks for letting us have some of your songs on the show.’ And he’s like, ‘Dude, how do I get on the show? I petitioned online and talked to my people, and you need to get me on that show.’”
Thieriot did not yet have more musicians on the lineup, but noted that he would love to have more familiar musical faces. “I have to wait for the next awards ceremony, and I’m just going to put a chair in the bathroom and greet them when they come in,” he joked. “But there are a few that we’ve been talking to for a while. Honestly, it would be nice to maybe see them both [Kane and Jelly Roll] bring back their characters in some form.
Season 4 of Fire countrywhich premiered in October, has not announced more cameos from country singers as the show continues to focus on the aftermath of Vince’s (Billy Burke) death and Gabriela’s (Stephanie Arcila) departure.
“[Before the season started]“I said I really wouldn’t want to have a love interest,” Farr said of honoring her on-screen husband. “If men get married the day after their wife dies, people will say, ‘They needed that.’ Women, we are meant to observe our loved ones after they are gone – and there was no way I could ever replace this.”
Farr wanted to portray the loss of Sharon well. “I think you can probably tell I’m still wearing my wedding ring on the show,” she added. “I was like, ‘We can’t just brush this off.’”
While Sharon continues to grieve, Farr is open to everything and spends plenty of time honoring her marriage.
“We’ll see how it goes. But I love where it is so far. She’s really working through it now. But it’s also this idea [of falling in love so young]. This isn’t my own life – I didn’t meet my partner when I was 20,” Farr explains. “I’ve never shared my life with just one person. I have shared my life with so many. So I’m just trying to discover what it would be like to be a one, when you’ve been part of a two for more years than ever before.”
Fire country airs on CBS Fridays at 9pm ET. New episodes stream the next day on Paramount+.
