‘Fire Country’ Spinoff ‘Sheriff Country’ raises Matt Lauria
Matt Lauria has joined the cast of “Sheriff Country”, the upcoming spider of “Fire Country” from CBS.
He will play the leading role opposite Morena Baccarin, who was previously announced that he led the series when CBS Greenlit It last May. Per the official logline, “Sheriff Country” will follow the “Straight Shooting Sheriff Mickey Fox (Baccarin), the step sister of Cal Fire’s Division Chief Sharon Leone (Diane Farr of ‘Fire Country’), who is investigating the criminal activities while she’s the streets of the Little Stad (Waatse Vaderse of the Little Stad (Waarde of the Little Stad (Waatse of the Little Stad (Waarde of the Little City of the Little Stad (Wat of the Little Stads of the Little Stad ( Brown) and a mysterious incident investigate when she concerns her wayward daughter.
Lauria plays Boone, Mickey’s old partner who is described as a “smart, tough and capable representative” with a different style of law enforcement, which comes from Oakland.
Lauria’s most recent TV roles were on “CSI: Vegas” from CBS and Amazon Prime videos “Outer Range”, both of which ended in 2024. His other prominent credits include appearing in “Friday Night Lights” from 2009 to 2011, “Parenthood” from 2012 to 2015 and “Dickinson” in 2019, with film roles, “Miss Bala” and “Shaft” and 2023 “80 for Brady” by Brady. “
“Sheriff Country” started as a back door pilot, in which Mickey was introduced in the episode of “Fire Country” season 2 “Alert The Seriff.” She reproduced that role in an episode of the currently broadcast third season of the show. The first episode of the Spin -Ooff is written by Tony Phelan and Joan Rater, with a story by Phelan, Rater and Max Thieriot. Executive producers are Thieriot, Phelan, Rater and Jerry Bruckheimer and Kristieanne rode for Jerry Bruckheimer TV. CBS Studios produces.
