Final ‘The Penguin’ scores series high: 2.1 million viewers

“The Penguin” continued its viewership growth streak in its final episode on Sunday night.

According to HBO, the final episode of the spin-off series “The Batman” drew 2.1 million viewers across all platforms, marking another series high in viewership. Sunday’s viewership is up about 50% from Episode 1 of the series. The first episode has now attracted nearly 17 million viewers since its premiere on September 19.

The show remains the most-watched current HBO or Max title debut season worldwide, behind only “House of the Dragon” and “The Last of Us.”

Colin Farrell reprises his role from “The Batman” in the series, once again playing Gotham City gangster Oswald “Oz” Cobb. The series begins in the days following the events of ‘The Batman’, with Oz attempting to take control of Gotham’s underworld in the power vacuum left by the death of his former boss, Carmine Falcone.

The cast of the series also includes Cristin Milioti, Rhenzy Feliz, Deirdre O’Connell, Clancy Brown, Carmen Ejogo and Michael Zegen. Mark Strong portrays Falcone in flashbacks, with John Turturro playing the character in “The Batman.”

Farrell also produces and stars. Craig Zobel is executive producer and director of the first three episodes. 6th & Idaho’s Daniel Pipski also serves as executive producer, as does Bill Carraro, while Rafi Crohn co-executive produces.
