Federation Stories UK appoints Beth Warin as Head of Development
FEDERATION APPOINTMENT
Federation Stories UK has appointed Bet Warin as the new head of development for the company. Warin will work together Pollie Williamsmanaging director, and will be responsible for the company’s international drama production.
Warin joins the BBC where she led drama commissioning and provided editorial support to commissioning editors Jo McClellan and Gaynor Holmes on their slates, including ‘Lockerbie’ and ‘The Night Manager’ season 2.
Federation Stories’ recent credits include ‘I, Jack Wright’, a British family drama series created by Chris Lang and starring John Simmy. The banner also has projects in development with broadcasters in the UK, US and Europe.
Federations Stories was founded three years ago and is the UK office of European production studio Federation Studios. The British outpost was founded by two former eOne executives, Arielle Gottlieb and Williams. Gottlieb left the company in February as part of a restructuring.
France-based Federation Studios, with production facilities around the world including Los Angeles, Tel Aviv, Rome and Berlin, is known for hits such as ‘The Bureau’ and ‘In Treatment’.
SALES SPEECH
ITV Studios has revealed a list of sales in the Americas. AMC Networks Sundans now acquired “Fifteen-Love” for the US and Canada, with SRC taking French Canadian rights. Jerk TV secured U.S. premiere rights for “Maternal” and second-window Canadian rights.
BritBox picked up “A Cruel Love: The Ruth Ellis Story” and “Until I Kill You” for the US and Canada. PBS Distribution expanded rights to “Endeavor,” “Victoria” and “Poldark.” Janus movies And Criterion Collection renewed rights to 94 classic titles.
MHZ choice has acquired ‘Blackwater’, ‘A French Village’, ‘Piste Noire’, ‘Petra’ season 2 and ‘Carlo and Malik’. Brazil Globo bought ‘I Kissed A Boy’, ‘I Kissed A Girl’, ‘An Audience with Kylie Minogue’ and ‘Ready to Mingle’.
Rob Kaplan and Craig Bohland brokered the deals for ITV Studios.
