Citing a law enforcement source, FOX News reported Thursday… FBI brass wanted to send DNA from Nancy’s home and other physical evidence to their crime lab in Quantico, Virginia, but the Pima County sheriff Chris Nanos refused the request and sent the items to a private laboratory in Florida for testing.
In response to the FOX article, Sheriff Nanos said NBC affiliate KVOA …the report was “not even close to the truth,” adding that his office is cooperating with the FBI.
Among the items sent to the Florida lab were: 2 gloves found along a road about 1.5 miles from Nancy’s home in Tucson, where she was kidnapped. The gloves were similar to those worn by the alleged kidnapper who was caught with one doorbell camera lurking around the front door of the house. The FBI says the masked suspect is described as a man, 6-foot-10 to 6-foot-1, with a medium build and carrying a black Ozark Trail Hiker Pack 50-gallon backpack.
