Fantastic MLS CEO Merri Jo Cowen for a long time to resign

“Serving as CEO of Stellar MLS has been one of the biggest awards of my career,” Cowen said in a statement. “I am incredibly proud of what we have built – an MLS that delivers value, innovation and integrity to real estate professionals and the consumers they serve. Now I am ready to take a step back, and Shayne is more than ready to step forward. I really cannot imagine what we have built in better hands.”
Cowen came to Stellar MLS in 2008. It was under her guidance that the MLS not only navigated through the large recession, but also became the largest MLS in Florida and Puerto Rico. She also played a role in the rebranding efforts of the MLS 2019.
“I have had the privilege of working closely with Merri Jo for almost 20 years and I learned a huge amount of how she leads, both strategically and personally. She leads with vision and heart, and that mix of high -level leadership and real care is part of what makes Stellar successful and is something that I am planning to wear,” Fairley said in a statement.
In the coming months, Stellar MLS said that Cowen will work closely with Fairley to guarantee a smooth transition from leadership. Even after the transition, Cohen is part of Stellaire MLS, in a strategic advisory role and leading its subsidiary Universal advisory opportunitiesCowen currently serves as CEO.
“Our priorities remain the same – delivering an exceptional value for our customers, defending innovation and helping to shape the future of the real estate sector both at home and all over the world,” Fairley said.
