Fame lawyer has ‘questions’ about the fault of the brothers Mendez

The newly discovered letter was introduced by Erik and Kyle’s lawyer, Cliff Gardner, who claimed that the brothers’ honestly believed to take action to save their lives.

“That means they are culpable for manslaughter, not murder. And if that is the case, they must be released on the basis of the time they have already served.”

La District Attorney Nathan Hochman, however, called it too little and too late.

“To say that this letter was only discovered after the trial, as it is claimed in the defense papers, we believe, is just wrong,” he said during a press conference in February.

“We believe that it is unthinkable, as we argued in our newspapers, and if they had common sense, that if they had proof that sexual abuse was communicated not only six years before the events, but nine months before the murders in 1989, that it would absolutely come out during one or both testimonies.”
