Everything you need to know about Keith Urban’s guitarist amid his messy divorce

During a performance on September 26Baugh took the stage to replace Carrie Underwood and sing The Fighter with Stedelijk. The song famously centers on Kidman and the early days of the now estranged couple’s relationship.

“It all comes from a conversation my wife and I had early on in our relationship, that when things get tough, I need to hold her tighter and just try to take care of her,” Urban shared about the song in a 2017 interview with Billboard. “The song is about wanting to heal someone, wanting to care for someone, wanting to protect someone. It’s like a vow in many ways.”

Instead of the original lyric “if they try to reach you, baby, I’ll be the fighter”, Urban released the line, “If they try to reach you, Maggie, I’ll be your guitarist.”

Baugh reposted the performance on Instagram, alongside the caption: “Did he just say that?”

A few days later, multiple news outlets confirmed Urban and Kidman’s split. TMZ also reported that the “Blue Ain’t Your Color” singer moved out of the family home and moved on with a yet-to-be-identified woman.
