Elon Musk Sold X in a $ 33 billion deal in its AI Startup Company almost three years after buying Twitter and it converted.
Musk, 53, announced the deal via a statement on his X account On Friday, March 28.
“The combination appreciates Xai for $ 80 billion and X for $ 33 billion ($ 45 billion less $ 12 billion debt),” wrote Musk. “Since its foundation two years ago, Xai quickly became one of the leading AI Laboratories in the world, models and data centers built with an unprecedented speed and scale.”
He continued: “X is the digital city square where more than 600m active users will find the real -time source of land truth and in the past two years it has been transformed into one of the most efficient companies in the world, which positions it to deliver scalable future growth.”
The news comes more than a year after the startup of Musk Grok has made, an AI-driven chatbot similar to Chatgpt.
Musk added that it was time to “take the step to combine data, models, calculation, distribution and talent.”
In April 2022, the Tesla CEO reached a deal to buy Twitter for around $ 44 billion.
“Free speech is the foundation of a functioning democracy, and Twitter is the digital city square where it is important for the future of humanity,” Musk said in a press release at the time.

Musk shared his plans for major changes in the press release that confirmed the purchase.
“I also want to make Twitter better than ever by improving the product with new functions, making the algorithms open source to increase trust, beat the spambots and authenticate all people,” he explained. “Twitter has a huge potential – I am looking forward to working with the company and the community of users to unlock it.”
