ElevenLabs strike deals with celebs to create AI audio
ElevenLabs made a deal with actors Michael Caine And Matthew McConaughey to generate their voice via AI, the company announced this week.
Hollywood and AI have an up-and-down relationship, with AI and its – or lack thereof – guardrails being one of the key concerns that led to the Hollywood strikes of a few years ago. Since then, some artists have started exploring the idea of AI.
Last year Meta has announced that it is Meta AI would offer voice assistants that sound like actresses Kristen Bell and Judi Dench. Together with McConaughey, an investor in ElevenLabs, the company will translate its newsletter into Spanish audio using its AI voice.
ElevenLabs also announced this week that it was launching a marketplace where brands can tap into authorized AI-generated celebrity voices, including Caine and other names like Liza Minelli and Dr. Maya Angelou.
ElevenLabs is one of the most popular AI unicorn companies and includes a16z and ICONIQ.
