Donald Trump threatens to end networks that don’t praise him

Donald Trump went on an unhinged tirade in which he apparently threatened the broadcast licenses of TV networks over their overwhelmingly critical coverage of him. RadarOnline.com can reveal.
The president pointed out how late-night talk shows have become left-wing echo chambers that rail against him before making a provocative comment about CBS, ABC and NBC’s “very valuable” FCC licenses.
Trump shared a post on Truth Social on Tuesday, December 23, asking: “Who has the worst Late Night host, CBS, ABC or NBC??? They all have three things in common: high salaries, no talent, REALLY LOW RATINGS!”
He continued, saying, “If network newscasts and their late night shows are almost 100% negative towards President Donald J. Trump, MAGA and the Republican Party, shouldn’t their very valuable broadcast licenses be terminated? I say YES!”
To get back into the spirit of the season, the president shared a post before going to bed, wishing his followers a “Merry Christmas.”
Trump is not entirely wrong when he accuses US broadcast networks of having strong biases against him.
ABC paid Trump $16 million to settle a defamation case in which host George Stephanopoulos sensationally claimed that the president had been “found liable for rape” in the E. Jean Carroll civil case, a false accusation he repeated as many as ten times.
In July, Paramount Global also paid $16 million in a new civil lawsuit after Trump sued CBS for deceptive practices. 60 minutes selectively edited an interview with his then-2024 presidential election opponent, Kamala Harris, to make her answers seem more coherent just weeks before the election.
Trump’s FCC hinted it would join forces on partisan claims against Republicans following the September murder of Turning Point USA founder and MAGA firefighter Charlie Kirk.
ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel claimed in a monologue that Kirk was murdered by a right-wing Trump supporter, even though authorities had revealed days earlier that the alleged killer of free speech activist Tyler Robinson had been indoctrinated by far-left ideology.
FCC Chairman Brendan Carr threatened “immediate action” against Kimmel, ABC and Disney for “intentionally misleading the public” over the host’s untrue claim that “the MAGA gang is desperately trying to characterize this kid who killed Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and doing whatever they can to score political points with it.”
Kimmel was taken off the air indefinitely by Disney later that day following Carr’s comments on a right-wing podcast, although he was ultimately only gone for a total of six days.
Trump’s provocative comment about network broadcast licenses came shortly after he apparently joked about resigning after showing off his hosting skills during the Trump Kennedy Center Honors broadcast on CBS.
“At the request of the board and pretty much everyone in America, I am organizing the event,” he boasted on Truth Social.
He added, “Tell me what you think of my skills as a ‘Master of Ceremonies.’ If they’re really good, would you like me to leave the presidency and make ‘hosting’ a full-time job?”
