Donald Trump Jr. is being eyed for the 2028 presidential run

J.D. Vance is still leading, as the poll found that 42% of Republicans and right-wing independents believe he is best suited to be the 2028 presidential candidate. Trump Jr. came in second, with 13% support, followed by Ron DeSantis and Marco Rubio, with 7% and 5%, respectively.
When we look at the age categories, however, things narrow: Vance was three points behind Trump Jr. with voters between the ages of 18 and 29. This is in stark contrast to April data, which showed that 52% of people in that age range thought Vance was the best Republican candidate, compared to 18% for Trump Jr.
Trump Jr. has never held public office, but he has worked as a confidante and advisor to his father and served as honorary chairman of Trump’s presidential transition team after the 2024 election.
In May, the prospect of Trump Jr. running for president emerged.
“I don’t know, maybe one day that calling will come,” he said at the time. “I think my father really changed the Republican Party. I think it’s now the America First party, the MAGA party, however you want to look at it.”
