Does Sherrone Moore have children? Meet the three daughters of the former Michigan coach
The University of Michigan sent an earthquake through the sports world on Wednesday, December 10, when it abruptly announced that it had fired its head football coach. Sherron Moore after an investigation revealed that he had an alleged ‘inappropriate relationship’ with an employee.
Shortly before his resignation was officially announced, Moore, 39, was arrested in connection with an assault investigation. As of Thursday morning, December 11, he remains in custody.
As rumors swirl about Moore’s alleged behavior, attention has focused on his family back home. The second-year head coach married his wife, Kelliin 2015, and the couple share three daughters: Shiloh, born in 2019, Solei, born in 2022, and Sadie, their youngest, whose birth date has not been revealed.
Since Moore landed in Ann Arbor as an assistant in 2018, he and Kelli have kept their lives very private, limiting what they share publicly via social media about their marriage or children. Athletics director Warde Manuelhowever, took the opportunity to recognize them all when Moore was elevated to head coach in 2024.
“We are thrilled to have Sherrone and his wife, Kelli, and the entire Moore family take on this new role for our football program and the college community,” he said in a statement at the time.
Although Kelli regularly attended Wolverine football games and even dragged the kids along on occasion, she admitted that the couple’s daughters weren’t as invested in their father’s success.
“Our daughters don’t care about the outcome of the games, they just want Dad to sit down and read a book when he gets home,” Kelli said in November, according to a post shared via X by the Broyles Award, an annual award given to the best assistant coach in college football. “And that’s what he does.”
The Athletics told a similar story, shedding light on Moore’s home life in a 2023 feature film during his time as the Wolverines’ offensive coordinator and interim head coach amid Jim Harbaugh’s three-game suspension.
The outlet wrote that Moore came home after a big win over archrival Ohio State and “plopped himself into a beanbag” to read to his daughters for 45 minutes.
“There was no TV watching,” Moore said The Athletics. “They told me to sit on the beanbag and I did. I read the books. It doesn’t really matter what I do on the field; when I’m home, I’m daddy.”
Former Michigan guard Trevor Keeganwho now plays for the Dallas Cowboys, Wolverines insider said Steve Kornacki that Moore even give him an example how to deal with his own family.
“He made us such better people with our family, and we see how he interacts with his family,” he said. “It’s more than just football with him; there are a lot of lessons off the field. He taught me to play loose and be yourself.”
Moore was fired after leading Michigan to a 9-3 regular season and earning a berth in the upcoming Citrus Bowl against Texas on New Year’s Eve.
Pittsfield police responded to Moore’s arrest in a news release Wednesday.
“The incident does not appear to be random in nature and there does not appear to be an ongoing threat to the community,” the spokesperson said statement read.
Authorities added: “Given the nature of the allegations, the need to maintain the integrity of the investigation and its current status at this time, we are prohibited from releasing additional details. Further details about the incident will be released as soon as possible.”
The specific charges against Moore are unknown at this time.
