“Recent developments underline how absurd it is that Ghislaine is still in prison,” he said. “The government says there is no Epstein client list, yet Ghislaine Maxwell remains locked up as a scapegoat for ghosts. That’s not right.”

“We hope she gets some relief [via the SC] soon,” he added.

The Supreme Court ultimately rejected her appeal, prompting her lawyer to issue a new statement.

“We are obviously deeply disappointed that the Supreme Court has declined to hear Ghislaine Maxwell’s case,” he said at the time.

“But this fight is not over. Serious legal and factual issues remain, and we will continue to pursue all available avenues to ensure that justice is done.”

Although there have been rumors for some time that Donald Trump would pardon her, he did not appear to have hinted that this would happen last year when asked.

“Well, I may pardon her, but no one has approached me about it,” he told reporters.

“No one has asked me about it. That, that aspect of it, is in the news, but at this point it would be inappropriate to talk about it.”
