Denise Richards’ ‘Final Straw’ Featuring ‘Scary’ Ex Revealed
Denise Richards and Aaron Phypers are still in the throes of a bitter divorce.
In the aftermath of their back-and-forth drama, a Hollywood insider got exclusive attention RadarOnline.com what happened leading up to the divorce and some major misconceptions that have been spread in the press about Richards along the way.
As Richards testified in court, the insider explained that she was recovering from surgery when Phypers allegedly “hit” her.
“For her, this was the breaking point in her marriage that she couldn’t get past, and she knew it couldn’t be repaired,” the source explained. “She also broke down in court during this testimony. It was very disturbing for her, and anyone who witnessed her testimony could see how much pain she was in.”
Before the final straw, the insider Richards had set Phypers a number of conditions that “would have to happen” for them to stay together, including attending anger management, but he allegedly did not comply. This, combined with the fact that he hurt her while she was recovering from surgery, made her feel “like there was just no progress anymore.”
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Alum had to undergo another surgical procedure from which she needed to recover, and the insider noted that she planned to split with him after she fully recovered so she wouldn’t have to stress herself out during an already difficult time.
“Over the Fourth of July weekend, he acted manic all weekend, and both he and his father threatened to post pictures of Denise on the internet,” the source claimed. ‘At that point she had really had enough and texted his mother saying it was probably for the best that they get a divorce and that if he didn’t stay away from her she would file a restraining order.
‘Aaron thought he would get the upper hand and pulled the trigger by filing for divorce first. His family probably convinced him to do this because they thought he would probably qualify for spousal support.”
As for how Richards found out she was getting divorced, the insider revealed she found out “on the internet.”
“She planned to wait until she recovered from surgery to file, but again, he went ahead and did it, probably thinking it would intimidate her,” the source said. “Denise was annoyed that she had to deal with this while recovering from surgery, but it was bound to happen eventually.”
At that point, stories started appearing in the press claiming she was ‘blindsided’ by the divorce and wanted him back,” the insider claimed; however, it appears that this was incorrect.
“Aaron was the one who begged for her back because he realized the serious mistake he made when he filed for divorce from her,” the insider claimed. “Moreover, he began to realize that without her by his side, the gravy train for him and his family was running out, and he would have no one – also named Denise – to pay his bills. He depended on Denise’s finances to survive and once she was out of the marriage he didn’t have that anymore.’
The Wild things For her part, the actress was “relieved that the marriage was over,” the insider confirmed.
“She didn’t pull the plug sooner because she was afraid of him, as evidenced by her testimony in court and the things she accused him of,” the source claimed. “She had no idea he was going to try to spin the story and expose things about her that couldn’t be further from the truth.”
To this day, the divorce battle between Richards and Phypers continues with no clear end in sight.
However, Richards recently scored a victory over Phypers when a judge granted her a five-year restraining order against him.
