Dodgers fans getting their brooms ready might have to be patient… because David Ortiz tells TMZ Sports he doesn’t buy the narrative that Los Angeles will beat Toronto in the World Series.
We spoke to Big Papi at LAX on Thursday – just a day before the MLB championship game kicks off in Canada – and he made it clear that he thinks the Jays can win it.
In fact, he was surprised to hear that some thought a Dodgers title was already a foregone conclusion.
“Who said Toronto didn’t get a chance?!” he told us… before adding, “Don’t worry about what people say.”
The Dodgers are currently the favorites to win, although the oddsmakers haven’t exactly crowned them champions with a -210 bet.
In the meantime, Dave Stewart – who actually won World Series ships with both LA and Toronto – shared a similar sentiment with Ortiz … saying he too believes there are no guarantees Shohei Ohtani and the Boys in Blue get their second ring in as many seasons.

“The team that’s playing the best, the team that’s excited going into the series, is usually the team that’s going to win,” Stewart told us. “That’s not always the team with the best chances, I think, that’s the best way I can put it.”
The first pitch is scheduled for Friday evening at 5pm PT at the Rogers Centre…I can’t wait!
