David Keener’s vision for Premiere Group at Real Brokerage

He also shares how Real’s API tools, business intelligence and additional services such as mortgage and title create new opportunities for agents.
The next conversation fragment has been processed for length and clarity.
Velt: I want to talk a little about your teaching. You describe Première as a member of the member, agent-Centric Teamage and you are with Real. Tell me a bit about your team and the culture.
Sharper: We have been to Real for about a year and eight months. We actually extend in 27 different states, just shy of 300 agents. The majority of that growth took place in the last four years. We were about, I think, 1,750 to 2,000 transactions per year. We have just hit more than $ 1 billion in volume. It was a pretty exciting time to say the least.
Velt: Ok, go in a little more details about how you structure it and how that works.
Sharper: Yes, so it is probably the number 1 question that I get – how is it that we have such a high retention? Because this is real estate, right? Every two years an agent starts itching a little and watching the grass on the other side. I have been building companies for about 30 years. It was in technology prior to the real estate sector.
Keener explained that his experience with stock options in the technical world inspired the model for Premier.
Sharper: During the construction of those companies, these were W-2 employees. One of the things we could do with those employees who helped me to build these companies was share options instead of a full salary. Because let’s be honest, money is very important, very tight when you start. So we have equipped them with stock options – in other words, an established interest in our collective success.
