Dave Matthews’ Mother Death at 89

Singer Dave Matthews“Mother died, TMZ learned.

Valerie Matthews died on 9 February in her house in Charlottesville, Virginia, according to an online death advertisement. We were told that Dave, his brother and his sister were at her bed when she died.

Born in South Africa in 1935, Valerie and her husband John Meeted in Johannesburg and had four children together, including Dave. Valerie became an architect and worked in London and New York before the family settled in Charlottesville. John Matthews died in 1977 when Dave was 10. Valerie remarried in 1991.

She is survived by three children, six grandchildren, a great -grandchild, a brother, a brother -in -law and stepjamers.

Valerie was 89.
