‘Dancing With the Stars’ ratings hit a season high on Halloween Night

“Dancing With the Stars” continues to perform poorly this season, as this week’s October 28 episode “Halloween Night” averaged 6.74 million viewers, according to ABC. That’s another season-high, the network reports — marking the sixth straight week of “DWTS” increases since the season premiere.
The “Halloween Night” episode was up 2% from the previous week (6.63 million on Oct. 21), rising despite airing opposite World Series Game 4 on Fox. The episode was the No. 1 non-sports program of the night on the networks, behind the World Series.
The episode also averaged a 1.36 rating among adults 18 to 49 — which was the show’s second-highest rating this season (slightly down from its season high a week ago, at 1.38).
The show also towered over last year’s “Halloween Night” by double digits in total viewers (+41% – 6.74 million vs. 4.77 million), while nearly doubling among adults 18-49 (+97% – 1.36 rating vs. 0.69 rating).
The series was the most-watched “Dancing with the Stars” “Halloween Night” episode among viewers in seven years (2018) and the average among adults 18-49 in eight years (2017), the network said.
The show, produced by BBC Studios, also saw a fan vote high that night: 55.26 million (up 4% from 53.10 million the week before).
According to ABC, “Dancing with the Stars” is the only fall show to increase its total audience for six consecutive weeks after its season premiere since September 1991, when Nielsen’s electronic measurement began.
Next week’s episode, “Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Night,” will air Tuesday, Nov. 4, at 8 p.m. ET on ABC and Disney+, streaming the next day on Hulu. Rock & Roll Hall of Fame nominee Flavor Flav will guest star on the panel.
