Compass will no longer adhere to the cooperation, other NAR MLS policy

In an e -mail sent to Nar and MLS leaders, Reffkin noted that Compass voted against the policy when it was introduced in 2019.
“Since the establishment of CCP, compass has acted consistently to demonstrate its non-compliance with the consumer restrictions of the policy, using the private exclusive compass and compass coming sins to offer consumers wider choices and options to bring properties outside the MLSs of Nar on the market,” Reffkin wrote.
Reffkin added that Compass consistently lobed for the removal of the policy, and claims that it is anti-competitive and anti-consumers. Some of these efforts, which Reffkin emphasizes in his e -mail, include publishing a question letter Clear MLS In October 2019, while it implemented the policy early, he discussed the company’s opposition against policy with representatives of the Ministry of Justice and formally propose the removal of the rule for removing the Nar’s emerging issues committee.
“For many years, Compass repeatedly warned industry for the legal risk of rules such as CCP, in particular from future class actions. In the coming years, the risk is that industry could be dealing with actions that differ from the currently pending compensation -oriented cases, with the potential for a substantial number of damage.”
Reffkin states that despite this formal explanation, nothing really changes for compass agents whom he claims “have been trained to meet local MLS regulations, not in National Nar Mandates that limit customer options.”
Instead of following the MLS policy of Nar, Reffkin said that “Compass will continue to determine on a market per market, or his indication brokers must be mentioned in a multiple Listering service within a specific time frame. These decisions are based solely on their own business interests of Compass, independent of NAR and any other brokers.”
Nar has not returned a request for comment.
This is the final step of Compass in his fight against CCP. The brokerage is currently in the middle of two legal fights, one with Northwest MLS and one more with Zillow During the policy of the two companies, with which Compass cannot be allowed to use parts of its three -phase marketing plan.
