Comedian Naomi Watanabe to host ‘From Tokyo’ North American tour

Naomi Watanabe comes to America and Canada.

The comedian has set dates for her ‘From Tokyo’ North American tour. This marks her first all-English tour.

“The past few years have been full of big changes, both for myself as a person and for my comedy, and I can’t wait to share what I’ve been up to with audiences across North America,” Watanabe said in a statement Tuesday. “This tour wouldn’t be possible without the love and support of my fans from the US, Canada, Japan and beyond. Thank you, and I can’t wait to meet friends – old and new – along the way this spring.”

The tour kicks off on April 17 in Los Angeles at The Wiltern, followed by 17 dates before ending on June 13 in Vancouver, British Columbia.

Watanabe first attracted attention in Japan in 2007 with her sketch comedy and original characters. She eventually moved to New York City, where she launched her podcast “Naomi Takes America” in 2023 and an accompanying seven-city live tour. She made her English-language stand-up debut, “Stand Up with Naomi Watanabe,” in 2024, selling out two shows at New York City’s Gramercy Theater in under an hour. She will also headline a solo sketch comedy show in Japan in 2026.

Earlier this year, Watanabe voiced Ambassador Auva in the English and Japanese versions of the Disney-Pixar film ‘Elio’.

“From Tokyo” tickets will be available from a Citi presale beginning December 3. Additional pre-sales run throughout the week leading up to the general sale naomiwatanabe.com begins December 5 at 10am ET/1pm PT.
