Colin Jost and Michael Che present Peacock’s first live comedy special

Peacock is beginning to delve into the live comedy world, enlisting “Saturday Night Live” stars Colin Jost and Michael Che to host the event. “Colin Jost & Michael Che Present: New York After Dark,” the streamer’s first-ever live special, airs Thursday, September 12 at 9pm ET/6pm PT.

The “Saturday Night Live” Weekend Update duo will host the event from The Bell House in Brooklyn. Peacock didn’t announce any artists other than Jost and Che, only describing the guests as “Colin and Michael’s favorite NYC club comics, new faces, and maybe even some names you already know and love. Watch live to see who will take the stage. Special guest appearances will feature both emerging and established New York comics.”

A house band, the Grammy-nominated musical ensemble 1500 of Nothin’, will accompany performances during the special.

“Colin Jost & Michael Che Present: New York After Dark” comes from Jost’s No Notes Productions and Che’s 7F Project; the representatives of the first project come from both new entities. The special’s executive producers are Jost, Jeff Grosvenor and Emily Hason of No Notes Productions; Che and Rachael Edwards of 7F Project; and Rikki Hughes of Magic Lemonade. Universal Television Alternative Studio, a division of Universal Studio Group, serves as the studio. Hughes is also the showrunner, while Michael Mancini directs.
