Christie Brinkley’s Memoir ‘Uptown Girl’: Biggest revelations

Brinkley also took the opportunity to think about the 1994 helicopter crash in her new memoirs.

The accident, which almost killed her and five others while they were heli-skiing in Telluride, Colorado, was reportedly “suddenly and traumatic, out of nowhere.”

The National Lampoon’s holiday Star added: “We had already taken two points and circled to land a third to land, on the saddle of a distant peak, when the helicopter just fell out of the sky, in a free fall of three hundred feet above your head, without car rotation.”

Brinkley was with her oldest daughter, Alexa Ray Joel, when the traumatic crash took place.

“Suddenly it became crystal clear that the only thing that really mattered in life and when death was the same: love. Love. I concentrated on Alexa Ray, kept her pure in my mind and hoped that she projected all my heart and soul to her, so that she would feel it at the time of impact, “she continued.

In the book, Brinkley remembered how powerful the impact was that it tore the hut in two. Fortunately, nobody died in her group.
