Choi Min-Sik leads Netflix Korean Drama ‘Notes from the Last Row’

Netflix has a new Korean series that promises to deliver psychological sensations with an A-list cast. “Comments from the last row”, starring Choi Min-Sik and Choi Hyun-Wook, will adjust the popular Spanish game “El Chico de la última Fila” for the Korean audience.

The exciting drama concentrates on HEO Mun-Oh, a grumpy professor and writer of literature whose creative spark has long been dimmed. His world shifts when he encounters Lee Kang, an enigmatic student who consistently occupies the rear row of the classroom but has special literary talent.

Veteran Choi Min-Sik, fresh from his versions in “Exhuma” and “Big Bet”, takes on the role of Heo Mun-Oh. The journey of the character starts when the writing assignment of Lee Kang stands out as the only entry that attracts his attention, as a result of which he guides the mysterious student.

Emerging star Choi Hyun-Wook, who was recognized by “weak hero class 1” and “twenty-five twenty-one”, Lee Kang, a technical student who hides remarkable literary skills. Under the leadership of Mun-oh, Lee Kang navigates an increasingly unpredictable path formed by the intense fascination of his mentor for his work.

The cast also includes Huh Joon-Ho (“Buried Hearts”, “Noryang: Deadly Sea”) who plays Kim Su-Hun, the successful writer friend of Mun-oh whose relaxed trust comes from his literary fame. Su-Hun represents everything that Mun-OH wants to be, and serves as both inspiration and source of secret envy that Mun-Oh has constantly defeated.

Kim Yun-Jin, internationally known for ‘Lost’ and more recently ‘Money Heist: Korea-Joint Economic Area’, takes the role of Ahn Eun-Joo, the wife of Su-Hun. In the meantime, Jin Kyung (“Veteran”, “Extraordinary lawyer Woo”) finish the ensemble as Jo Hyeon-Suk, the psychologist of Mun-Oh.

Behind the camera, director Kim Gyu-Tae brings his expertise in psychological stories, after he has previously helped “The Trunk” and “Our Blues”. The scenario comes from Jang Myung-Woo, writer of “My Mother, The Mermaid.”

Kakao Entertainment and Gtist produce the series, which is currently in production, with a tab with the main cast that was recently completed.
