Chloe Fineman doesn’t regret saying Elon Musk made her cry on SNL

Saturday Night Live cast member Chloe Fineman has no regrets about calling out X owner Elon Musk for making her cry when he hosted ‘SNL’ in 2021.

On Tuesday evening, Fineman took to her Instagram Story (via Daily beast) to write: ‘Remember when I got in trouble for shouting the Nazi salute? Yes, no regrets.” The post references Musk’s actions the day before, when he caused controversy with a gesture that drew comparisons to a fascist salute.

In August 2024, Fineman’s castmate Bowen Yang revealed on “Watch What Happens Live” that a male “SNL” host “made several cast members cry” while reading sketches at the table. In November, Fineman posted a video on TikTok that exposed Musk as that “male host.”

“Okay, I just saw a news article about Elon Musk feeling a little bit pained about ‘SNL’ and his impression, but I think you’re clearly watching the show. For example, what are you talking about?” Fineman said in the video that has since been deleted. “And I’m like, you know what? I’m finally going to come out and say I’m the cast member he made cry. And he’s the host who made someone cry. Maybe there are others.’

Shortly afterwards, Musk gave a less than apologetic response, writing on I was worried. I was like damn, my ‘SNL’ appearance is going to be so damn unfunny it’ll sober up a crackhead!! But in the end it worked out.”
