It looks like CBS is taking another look David Del Rio and his accusation of sexual assault made against him by his ‘Matlock’ co-star … as TMZ has learned the studio has reopened its investigation.
TMZ broke the news… Del Rio was subsequently booted from the hit show the actor had been accused of sexually abusive actress Leah Lewis on the Paramount lot in October.
Now, multiple sources close to David tell TMZ … the investigation was reopened ahead of Thanksgiving … and more parties have been interviewed, including David himself and his high-powered attorney, Shawn Holley.
In the fall, Del Rio was escorted off the Paramount lot and canned on the same day the complaint was filed…CBS Studios confirmed at the time that his character, a key player on the series, would be written off.
Another inside source reiterates to us that his character has been written off the series for future episodes and says that “Matlock” is back in production after a pre-planned hiatus.
As we reported… Del Rio vehemently denied the accusation… and hired Holley. We hear the reopened investigation is still ongoing.
CBS declined to comment because they do not discuss legal matters.
