CBS looks to Joe Rogan for ’60 Minutes’ Shake-Up following Anderson Cooper’s departure

Kuiper leaves 60 minutes after nearly two decades, having joined the show in 2007 in a rare talent-sharing deal with its longtime home base, CNN.

“CBS isn’t looking for gentlemen anymore. They want someone who will command the room and exude dominance,” a network source previously told Shuter before the election. Since Weiss took over CBS News in October 2025 with a mandate to avoid being “woke” and bringing a more centrist approach to storytelling, she has been hands-on with all elements of the brand.

“Bari made it clear she wanted a different tone,” an insider revealed 60 minutes. “Every script was scrutinized. Every edit was questioned. It stopped feeling like trust and started feeling like a test.”

Another source said Cooper “didn’t quit. He was pushed. When management makes things so uncomfortable, the only option left is to walk away.”
