‘CBS Evening News’ Producer Guy Campanile to return to ’60 minutes’

Guy Campanile, an old “60 minutes” producer who was instructed to manage an important overhaul of the venerable “CBS Evening News”, returns to his old stamping.
Campanile is expected to take on tasks at “60 minutes” in the coming days, according to a person who is familiar with the business, as a result of which CBS News has assigned a new director to perform his evening news. It is said that a potential candidate is Kim Harvey, an experienced producer who has worked for CNN, Fox News Channel and MSNBC, together with CBS News.
CBS News refused to make managers available for comment. The expected change of tasks of Campanile was previously reported by The New York Times.
Campanile’s move would come, just like “60 minutes” employees usually return from the summer vacation to get different stories in the making for broadcast. Campanile saw the course “Evening News” as an honor, according to the person who is familiar with the situation.
“CBS Evening News” has been struggling with a decline in viewers in recent months after an important overhaul of the format that was traded in one anchor for a duo and an emphasis on business and reporting instead of just the hard news of the day. The commotion was aimed at pushing the program out of his long -lasting for NBC’s “Nightly News”, which for the first time changed anchors in a decade, and ABC’s “World News Tonight”, which broadcast the most viewed evening news in the US
“CBS Evening News” remains one of the most famous offers of the Paramount Global Network, with a legendary history that goes back to Dan Rather and Walter Cronkite. This version of the show gives more attention to the reporters around the world who help put it together – even to let them surface for commercial breaks to tell viewers to stay up to date with their coming stories. Many stories have CBS News reporters who hold from Iowa, Kansas, Missouri or stains from all over the world, instead of worn-out sticks for the White House or the American Capitol.
The shift was partly under the supervision of Bill Owens, the former executive producer of ’60 minutes’, who left CBS News in April, with reference to the interference of business owner Paramount Global when it wanted to continue a sale to Skydance Media despite a lawsuit of President Donald Trump, of which were missing, of which were missing, of which were missing, of which were missing, of which, of which was missing.
Changes at “CBS Evening News” are expected – and not just because of the reviews. A new president, Tom Cibrowski, was brought to the division in February of this year. The program, according to two people who are familiar with CBS News, is seen as on a task list for the relatively new arrival of the division.
