Captain Jason Discusses the Heather Gay Hookup Rumor at BravoCon 2025
Below Deck Down Under’S Captain Jason Chambers is aware of this Heather Gay hookup rumors — and is using BravoCon 2025 to set the record straight.
“We had a year break at BravoCon – we didn’t think we’d go back there again,” Captain Jason told exclusively We weekly while walking the red carpet at this year’s BravoCon in Las Vegas on Friday, November 14.
“We came right back here,” he continued. “Look, she knows I’m embarrassed, and she also knows I’m a little sarcastic. And I know her wit and her humor, and I think she saw a door open and went for it. And I respect that, because she knows she just makes me quirky, a little annoyed, almost.”
He added: “It was fun. I like it. It’s just friendship, and it’s really fun.”
For the woefully uninitiated, The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star hosted a yacht trip to Canouan Island for the series’ cast in a crossover event on October 28. During a drunken altercation with Costar Britani BatemanHeather claimed she had previously slept with the Australian captain.
“You’re chatting with Jason. He’s not interested in me,” Britani, who seemed interested in the captain earlier in the episode, told Heather.
“I know, but Jason and I are friends,” Heather replied. “We have a history. We’ve messed around before. It’s like there’s nothing there.”
When asked to explain what exactly she meant by “hanging out,” Heather simply clarified that the pair are friends.
“We’re friends,” she said. “I say we’re friends, so there’s room to wiggle.”
After sobering up, Heather seemed shocked by her own confession.
“That’s what I said?” Heather told the producers in a much more sober confession. “Seriously face? You can’t use that. I don’t know why I told her that. Delete. Delete.”

“I think the people in Dubai, the Housewives of Dubaiwould be great, you know? he said Us on Friday of another possible crossover event. “I think their expectations and criticism would be above that. You know, I think they want the highest service. And we like to be criticized. We like to get better.”

“That’s the best thing about sailing: you work with it [a] crew. You become friends. I’ve worked with all the housewives in Salt Lake City and we’re all good friends,” he explained. “And BravoCon is a great way for us to reconnect. I had a great time, even on the first day, meeting them all again.”
While Captain Jason is more than willing to cooperate The Real Housewives again, he is also looking forward to the new season of Below Deck Down Under despite some of its crew members previously focusing on the show’s story.
“The department heads were kind of the center of the whole thing, when they shouldn’t be,” he told us about last season. “So this season we are fortunate to bring together three other great, experienced department heads and you will see absolutely no problems. They are so great, and their experience and professionalism is amazing.”
He continued. “We made it happen. It’s a great season.”
