Skater Madeline Schizas
Sorry I didn’t write my reflection, professor…
My country needed me!!!

The “The dog ate my homework” excuse is old news… try “My Olympic commitments got in the way” instead!
Madeline Schizas — a figure skater for the Canadian Olympic team — tries to relay this line to her college professor at McMaster University in Ontario, Canada… and shares an email she sent requesting a postponement.
Take a look… Schizas writes that she thought an assignment for her sociology class was due on Sunday, not Friday – and she didn’t have time to complete it anyway because she was representing Canada in the Olympics.
As proof, Schizas sends along an article stating that she is participating in the games… pretty compelling evidence, we must say.
Schizas competed in the women’s singles short program on Friday and finished in sixth place – helping the Canadian women’s figure skating to Sunday’s team final.
This is Schizas’ second Olympic Games … he previously competed in three events at the 2022 Games in Beijing.
While it may seem like a no-brainer to leave Madeline alone, she is a self-described student-athlete — and student comes first in that sense.
Should the professor give her a deferment? Or does Schizas apply the same standards as everyone else? Vote above!
