Breaking Out,” “6000lb Diaries” acquired by WBD

Warner Bros. Discovery has picked up medical reality series “Dr. Pimple Popper: Breaking Out” and “The 6000lb Diaries” for its European linear networks, the company has revealed.

The deal includes seasons 1 and 2 of “Dr. Pimple Popper: Breaking Out,” which follows world-renowned dermatological surgeon Dr. Sandra Lee as she treats patients suffering from painful, life-changing skin conditions. Featuring a newly expanded clinic and a deeper look into her personal life, the series offers both medical insight and emotional storytelling.

Season 1 will end in October, while season 2 – which was recently renewed – will roll out new episodes through 2027.

Premiering in January 2026, ‘The 6000lb Diaries’ will introduce viewers to 10 individuals at a crucial crossroads in their lives seeking transformative bariatric surgery led by Dr. Now. Through intimate diary cameras and raw confessionals, the series explores their emotional and physical journey to reclaim their lives.

“These titles, featuring talent already familiar to audiences from previous TLC shows in the US, reinforce WBD’s multi-local content strategy and deliver compelling entertainment,” said Andreas Lemos, director of international content at WBD.

The deals were unveiled on the sidelines of Mipcom.

The acquisitions strengthen Warner Bros.’ unscripted programming offering. Discovery across Europe, contributing to the provision of factual entertainment and reality content aimed at diverse audiences.

Warner Bros. Discovery operates across television, film and streaming platforms in more than 220 countries. The company’s brands include HBO, Discovery Channel, CNN, TLC, HGTV, Food Network, Eurosport, TNT, TBS, Cartoon Network, Animal Planet, Investigation Discovery, Travel Channel and Warner Bros. studios.
