Bosnian Mystery Crime Series ‘Komar’ taken over by Beta Film

Beta -Film has picked up international distribution rights on the Bosnian mystery crime series “Komar”, which celebrated its world premiere a year ago at the Sarajevo Film Festival.
“Komar” is produced by BH Telecom (BH Content Lab) with SCCA/Pro.BA as an executive producer. It is the third series on which BH Telecom and Beta film have worked together, after “I Know Your Soul” and “The Hollow”.
The eight-hour show joins Beta’s growing slate of high-end shows of the Balkans, including Canneseries and Shanghai TV Festival winner “Operation Sabre” from Serbia, which was recently broadcast on Arte and was praised as “masterly political thriller” by Tégel and “a powerful and powerful.
Other series from the region include Venice Film Festival TV entry “I Know Your Soul” by Jasmila žbanić, the Bulgarian drama “Shattered Bonds and the long-running Greek TV sensation” The Beach “, among others.
“Komar” revolves around Mersiha. When her friend Miki disappears without trace while she travels through the Komar mountains, Mersiha and her best friend, Jasna, went looking for him. In the meantime, some travelers wake up on the bus and find it lost in the middle of nowhere, without a mobile signal or a way to return to civilization. While Mersiha and Jasna are sucked deeper into the mystery, it appears that dark forces are trying to thwart their efforts.
Timur Makarevic is the showrunner; Vedran Rupic and Una Gunjak share director credits.
In the main roles are Lejla Hakalovic, Pia Vrdoljak and Igor Skvarica.
Beta -Film will be represented this year at the edition of the Sarajevo Film Festival of Senior Executive at Beta’s Kids & Ya, Julia Schwiger, who is one of the panel members of the Cinelink -Panel “From Skam to Sram: Youth Drama, Public Broadcasters and the Power of Adaptation.”
