Now at the age of 16one Edition, The Bogotá Audiovisual Market (BAM), which takes place from 14-18 July in the capital of Colombia, promises a program of more than 245 activities and special events, aimed at promoting a creative exchange in music, animation, AI, documentaries, literature, film and TV.

Organized by Promotional Entity Proimágenes Colombia, led by Claudia Triana, and the Bogotá Chamber of Commerce – with support from the Film Development Fund – BAM also opens a room for critical discussions about AI’s ethical and creative impact in industry.

In the panel processing on stage, Jorge Caballero, Fabián Caba (Adobe Inc.) and Camilo Restrepo will demonstrate how AI audiovisual operation reforms.

BAM is tailored to this year’s technical focus and also organizes a timely conversation about intellectual property in digital spaces. The conversation is not magical, the strategy will investigate how creative ideas can change in sustainable companies, combining legal and industrial insights.

In the meantime, BAM bridges the gap between influencers and audiovisual makers. In Roem is not relevant, CIFRAS Y Conceptos will present a new certification for makers of content, while companies such as Goldfish discuss targeted Influencer marketing that are rooted in creativity and authenticity.

BAM and the Cinemateca de Bogotá will also present a retrospective of the Argentinian filmmaker Lucrecia Martel (“La Cienaga”, “Zama”), with her filmography with special guests, including Santiago Gallelli, Julieta Laso and Paula Astorga.

“We have organized a series of 12 sessions called BAM Talks with inspiring conversations that want to bring the public closer to the audiovisual world in various ways not necessary from a technical or strict perspective, but also through inspiration and connections with other art forms,” said Bam director Carlos Eduardo Moreno. Improving his international focus are also conversations by banning Iranian animation artist Sepideh Farsi and Chinese documentary Wang Bing.

Another striking BAM talk contains the acclaimed author Laura Restrepo, whose adjustment of the Netflix series of her work “Delirium” (“Delirio”) premiered during BAM before it falls on July 18. She is accompanied by chief actress Estefanía Piñeres, screenwriter Verónica Triana and director Julio Jorquera to discuss the adjustment.

Via the Otros Ojos program, in collaboration with the French Embassy, BAM emphasizes the animation and film education for young people. Important voices are Arnaud Miquel, Bérèngere Le Gall (ECV animation), Thomas Meseguer (Gobelins), Soizic Mouton (Pivaut), Verónica Buiide (Mia / Pulpa Rights) and Jairo Arcos (Signos Studio). The initiative promotes different stories and lays the foundation for future regional collaborations.

Said Moreno: “Since a few years, BAM has organized the ethnic program, which has been aimed at native makers, as well as black, Afro-Colombian, Raizal- and Palenquero communities. This program strives, I believe, to understand the agendas, needs and productionethodes of Afro and in the Colombia.”

“What is even more important, I think, we have invited international guests who share an interest in identifying these voices, getting to know them and to work with them. This has been an important initiative for the market to recognize and invest in the diversity present in the areas of the country,” he proudly mentioned that the Colombian Iratu Dojura has become the Berlinala with the Berly Dojura. Berlinale in the Berlinale in the territory of the country. “Akababuru: expression of surprise.”

“Colombia has already made several animation companies all in Bogotá. We have listed around 23 companies with experience. They have each released at least three productions and offer international services,” said Triana, who added: “There are currently two animated films in co-production with Spain that will be ready next year.

According to Moreno, BAM will organize projects in the development of Ecuador, Brazil and Spain for the first time this year who not only look for co-productions with Colombia, but with Latin America as a whole.

“There is a genuine interest in BAM in strengthening Latin American co-productions to create more solid projects that can then strive for partnerships with Europe, Canada or the US,” said Moreno who expected about 200 to 250 international guests from different parts of the world from Latin America.

“We also believe that by encouraging Latin American co-productions, these films will have greater opportunities to circulate in the region-IS that remains a challenge. In contrast to music or books, for example, who tend to circulate well in Latin America, films often do that. So we see regional co-productions to achieve that.

BAM is set as the Colombian audiovisual industry and allure as a location has grown rapidly to become the envy of his rivals in Latin -America. Many producers from the region have a grip about losing work on the country, which offers two types of tax stimuli: the Fondo Fílmico Colombia (FFC) and the Certificado de Inversión Audiovisual and Colombia (Cina). The FFC offers a discount in cash equivalent to 40% of the audiovisual service costs and 20% of the logistics costs such as accommodation, food and transport. Cina offers a transferable tax credit that is equal to 35% of the costs for foreign productions, including films, series, music videos and video games.

Last year was slow because of the twin strikes in Hollywood, among other things, said Colombian film commissioner Silvia Echeverri. “We have only committed about 50% of the available resources. But this year things have been picked up considerably, and we are really happy with that,” she said, referring to an abundance of series, reality shows, films and video projects that are ongoing.

“Since Cina was founded in 2020 – technically the end of 2020 – five years have passed,” said Triana. “During these five years, the system has proved to be very successful. It is not just about getting a transferable tax credit; it is that credit is actually traded on the national market and is sold at almost full value – between 98% and 100% of its value,” she noticed: “This makes it a reliable incoming, trust and consistence identity.”

Moreno said: “At BAM we want to create a market that thinks about making films in Latin America. Given the continuous challenges of the region with traditional North American and European financing models, we see a strong need and opportunities for greater regional cooperation. Our vision is not just a Latin-American way for the Road of American Road-American, the Road of American Road-American, the Road of American, the Road of American, the Road of American Road-American, the Road of American Road-American, the Road of American Road-American, The Road of American Road-American, The Road of American Road, The Road of American Road, The Road of American Road, The Road of American Road, The Road of American Road, The Road of American Road. From the judges, the road for the judges, one that we use to explore and strengthen.
