Bobbi Althoff tackles body image insecurities after ‘failed’ Botox

Bobbi Althoff got candid about her body image insecurities and embraced her appearance while giving an update on her “failed” Botox procedure to treat chronic jaw pain.

Before social media was transparent about cosmetic tweaks and plastic surgery procedures, the 28-year-old podcaster said she would “see people who looked perfect, and I assumed they were just born that way.”

Althoff revealed that she has come to see her previous insecurities differently – and with much more compassion. She commented: “I think a lot of people are just getting things done, especially in LA”

“I think all it does is it helps people be happier with how they were born and happier with what they already had, because it’s like, look how wrong things can go,” she said. People in a recently published interview on Tuesday, December 30. “It’s definitely helped me appreciate how I naturally look more because I look back at pictures of myself before I’ve even touched my face and I think, ‘Oh, I don’t know why I was so angry about the way I looked or why I wanted to change this, because I liked the way I looked.'”

She spoke about body image while promoting her lingerie campaign in Adore Me’s Valentine’s Day 2026 collection, which this year’s theme is ‘Leave Your Mark With Kisses’.

The influencer recently got Botox to help treat her jaw problems, and admitted she was worried about how her face would look on camera during the photoshoot.

She had a bad experience after getting ’20 units of Botox’ in her chin in November 2023. She told her followers on TikTok that she would never get the injections again, but changed her mind when she started having “bad jaw problems.”

“I couldn’t smile at all,” she explained in an update after a recent “failed” Botox session left her face paralyzed. “I felt so crazy, like I couldn’t laugh. But I can feel it.” [the photos] it still turned out really good.”

Althoff – a mother of two who shares daughters Luca, 5, and Isla, 3, with ex-husband Cory Althoff – noted that she faced scrutiny online and cruel comments made about her appearance while in the public eye. (The exes finalized their divorce in August 2024 after four years of marriage).

“I read every comment section about me,” she admitted. “And now when I see something, I just scroll past it.”

She listened to advice from others in the spotlight on how to overcome criticism, revealing that “a lot of therapy” helped. “I’ve approached a lot of people who are celebrities and they’re like, ‘You really need to stop reading comments. It’s not healthy.'”

As part of her New Year’s resolutions, Althoff vowed not to look in the mirror “so much” and not to dwell on insecurities. She added, “I want to touch some grass and realize that I don’t have to criticize every little part of myself there.”
