Bob Iger supports Jiostar while Mukesh Ambani Google reveals, Meta AI Deals

Bob Iger, CEO of Disney, joined Reliance Industries -President and MD Mukesh Ambani during the annual general meeting of the company in Mumbai on Friday for the rapid rise of Jiostar, the Reliance -Disney venture that has become a dominant power in the media -ecosystem of India.
“It is a privilege to tackle the Reliance AGM and to mark what turns out to be an extraordinary partnership,” said Iger. “By bringing together the digital reach, the implementation and understanding of the Indian consumer of Reliance, combined with Disney’s rich library of stories of world class and beloved IP, Jiostar has quickly established himself as a worldwide force in media and entertainment, with nearly 300 million paid subscribers.”
Reliance Industries and Disney completed their long-awaited media merger last year, creating an Indian powerhouse with a value of $ 8.5 billion. The deal combined Disney’s Star India with Reliance’s Viacom18 and streaming platforms Jiocinema and Hotstar.
In his own comments, Ambani called Jiostar’s creation ‘a decisive moment for the media ecosystem of India’. He told shareholders that the platform now offers more than 320,000 hours of content, six times more than the nearest rivals, where Jiohotstar attracted 600 million users within three months after launch, including 300 million paying subscribers of the world’s second largest streaming platform was fully built in India. Reliance also has a 34% share in the television market, similar to the next three networks.
Jiohotstar, the merged Jiocinema and Disney+ Hotstar-Streamer, rolls out new AI-driven functions, including Riya, a speech-controlled search; Voice Print, which uses AI speech clones and LIP-Sync technology to locate shows and films; Jiolenz, who offers adaptable viewing modes; and MaxView 3.0, which improves cricket coverage with multiple camera corners, direct highlights and interactive scorecards.
Ambani has also updated the shareholders on Network18, referring to the MoneyControl Pro milestone of more than a million paying subscribers, who placed it in the top 15 of the top 15 of the world description. Reliance and Google Cloud will set up a dedicated AI cloud region in Jamnagar, powered by Reliance’s Renewable Energy and the network of Jio. “Just when Jio and Google came together to democratize the internet for every Indian, we will now democratize intelligence for every Indian,” said Ambani. Google CEO Sundar Pichai added in a statement: “Our work together in the past decade has contributed to affordable internet access to millions. And now we are building this to shape the next leap with AI.”
Reliance also formed a joint venture with meta, capitalized at around $ 100 million, to develop LLama-based Enterprise AI solutions for India and select international markets. “We will democratize Enterprise-Grade AI for every Indian organization-of ambitious SMEs to Blue-Chip Corporates,” said Ambani. Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg noted in a statement: “Through this joint venture we put the Llama models from Meta in Real-World use and I am looking forward to expanding Meta’s footprint in the business space while we access new possibilities together.”
