Bill Maher fears he could be shot by either political party

“I mean, I just wouldn’t want to be in the atmosphere that we live in today. I mean, it’s just a little bit messy out there,” Maher said of the widening divide between the red and blue sides.

Later in the podcast, the New York native said he’s less afraid of Democrats than Republicans, despite being incredibly unhappy with the “woke” progressive wing of his party.

“The Democrats…Yes, they are a certain woke part of this country that hates me because I will refuse to let them just get away with insanity that they have never tried before and never said things like that before,” he noted.

“But overall I find them less alarming than the Republicans and the conservatives who don’t believe in allowing elections. A lot of other basic democratic things. But yes, I think both parties need to be called out.”

He pointed out his criticism of both sides: “And I live in Hollywood, this town just doesn’t believe that. They don’t believe in calling out both sides.”
