Bad bunnyis being criticized for recently attending ‘God Bless America’ at Yankee Stadium, but ‘Marlins Man’ tells TMZ everyone needs to calm down… because the man didn’t break any rules.
The sports superfan (real name Laurence Leavey) says he’s angry that people are ripping Bad Bunny off for this… and insisting that the rapper has every right to sit, it’s not against the law, and honestly the world has way bigger problems than this.
Marlins Man says he was sitting right next to BB when it all happened and he made sure to tell him to get up, but Bunny’s camp had their own reasons. His supervisor even brought that up ‘SNL’ monologue where BB joked about Americans taking “four months to learn Spanish before the Super Bowl.”
But Bunny himself remained quiet, kept to himself, arrived late, left early and was glued to his phone. Fans around them assumed he was avoiding the national anthem, and “God Bless America” caught him off guard, so he left, but Marlins says it seemed more like bad timing than some major political statement.
He admits that the optics didn’t help – especially since BB was in disguise and sitting next to himself, dressed as a human traffic cone – but still, it shouldn’t be a scandal.
In the end, Marlins says it was all just bad luck for Bunny… and that it never should have blown up like that.
